Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
-Carl Jung

One of the amazing facts of life is that no human experience is identical. This fact has proved itself more than one hundred billion times over this earth’s history. When we were born, where we’ve lived, family dynamics, education, experiences, and points of view all contribute to the story we create. No two people have ever experienced the same hardships and joy in the same way. Even with all those differences, it seems even more incredible that individuals can connect on such a deep and meaningful level. These truths lead to a unique experience for each human participating in the therapeutic process. As a therapist, I have learned various pathways to finding relief from the events that challenge us in life. A combination of CBT, DBT, EMDR, Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, and Narrative therapy are just a few of the pathways we can take on your healing journey. My job is to keep my attention and expertise honed and ready to create the unique therapeutic experience necessary for effective healing. Although I am charged with creating that space for processing and healing, I also recognize the most important factor for change: the person seeking therapy.

I deliberately chose this career. I became a mental health therapist because of my passion for healing from life’s challenges that compel us to find clarity and meaning. I believe our capacity and ability to heal is within ourselves, even if we have forgotten or cannot see how. My approach with each client is to use the past to understand your experience’s context, then build a framework for present awareness and healing that will facilitate a healthier future. This approach applies to the individuals, couples, and families that I work to support. You are the most important part of therapy, and you will see and feel that during the course of our therapeutic relationship, regardless of how long it lasts. I am capable of supporting clients with addiction of any form, complex trauma, grief/ loss, life transitions, marriage, spirituality, religious issues, caretaker fatigue, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and existential dilemmas.

If you would like to know more about me, I am originally from Southern California and have also lived in Upstate New York, Utah, Texas, Spain, and now Colorado. I have been married to my best friend for over twenty years, and we have four lively children. I have had the opportunity to run three separate businesses, and I enjoy sports, the ocean, outdoor activities, art, and music. I feel privileged to be a part of the team at Riversage and am excited to meet and work with anyone who seeks my therapeutic services.
