Specializing in treating complex issues with strength and compassion

David Sherman, MA

I feel blessed to work with individuals and couples in support of acceptance and change through dynamic, client-focused, body-centered psychotherapy. I empower individuals and couples by leading from the heart with compassion and curiosity, creating a non-judgmental space in which to explore complex issues, recurring challenges, and personal aspirations. I hope to foster insight and compassion for ourselves and others, strengthen relationships that are beneficial, and explore options for changing behaviors that no longer serve.

I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University, specializing in Mindfulness Based Transpersonal Counseling. I have trainings in trauma-informed counseling, neuroscience, the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Counseling (PACT), Nonviolent Communication, Gestalt, family systems, and body-centered psychotherapy. I specialize in working with couples of all kinds and in all types and stages of relationship, as well as individuals experiencing anxiety, grief, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and more.

My passion for working with couples and individuals is rooted in my own commitment to personal growth and strengthening my relationships and community. As confusing as life can be, we do not have to go through it alone, and I am excited to be of service to people from all backgrounds in the greater Four Corners area. I combine a deep interest in the process with modern therapeutic skills and somatic and spiritual practices. When I am not working, you can find me on my bike, skis, yoga mat, or on the dance floor.

I look forward to hearing from you.
